Essential oils

Aromatherapy and Astrology Essential oils For your Wellbeing During Capricorn Season

The Aromatherapy essential oils that have a balancing, healing effect on Capricorn, are Sandalwood, Bergamot and Myrrh

Sandalwood, like Capricorn, reaches its peak later in life; taking 60 years to reach maturity for distillation. This makes it a perfect essential oil for Capricorn season. Sandalwood has spiritually opening effects and stimulates intellectual expression. It is great for Saturnian melancholic moments. Try massaging a blend of throat chakra, expression oil, Sandalwood, onto the body with sweet almond oil. As well as stimulating a flow of communication, it will clear the mind and calm the nerves.

Bergamot is an excellent reviving, anti-depressant. It is very much a heart centred oil, which assists in encouraging joy and love. This solar ruled, cheery citrus fruit. will boost moods, energy levels and the immune system. Bergamot has soothing, regulating qualities and balances the activity of the hypothalamus, helping to regulate chemical responses in the body and the mind. Add a few drops to your diffuser or your bath, for a cheery, uplifting effect. Do not use before exposure to the Sun however.

Myrrh is another Saturnian oil that preserves like Saturn, ruler of Capricorn. It is an elixir of youth, and one of the oldest essential oils on the planet. Myrrh has been prized for its medicinal, healing properties for aeons, and like Sandalwood, it stimulates expression and helps you to move forward spiritually and emotionally, when stuck in a rut. As a meditation aid, inhale directly from the bottle or add to a diffuser. For a comforting, stress relieving bath, add a few drops to the bath and enjoy the mentally relaxing effects.

Instructions and Safety
There are many ways to absorb essential oil. You can either use a diffuser, add up to 5 drops to bath or have an Aromatherapy Massage. I suggest using 10 drops to every 40ml carrier oil for a massage. Always do a skin test for oils you’ve never used, in the unlikely event of an allergy. To do this, add a drop to the back of your wrist, via a cotton bud, apply a plaster and wait for 24 hours. There are some oils which are fine to use during pregnancy, though lots of them aren’t. Please check before use. Oh and do not ingest or apply the oils neat..
