Scorpio Full Moon Flower Moon at 11 degrees, 1st May 2026:

Astrology Forecasts for all signs

Every month there is a full moon, that time when the Sun and Moon face one another across the sky. Together they form a kind of sacred marriage: a cyclical dance of union and separation, as they unite, then pull apart, harmonise and separate. As above, so below. The Sun speaks to spirit- how we branch out, grow and receive the fruits of fulfilment. The Moon speaks to our soul- our emotional intelligence and intuitive wisdom, the ancient part of us that can connect to the depths of our roots in the earth and our belonging to the vast ocean of life.

Scorpio Full Moon coincides with Beltane festival, May day festival, a celebration of fire and fertility, which honours the God and Goddess and their sacred, life- giving union. It is the first time since 1988 that the Full Moon and May 1st Beltane festival have occurred together.  Beltane brings the perfect balance of spring and summer, falling at the midpoint between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, as we move closer to the height of the sun.

With the Moon is in Scorpio, the themes include:

  • resources, talents, finances
  • relationships, self-worth, and values
  • purging what’s no longer relevant
  • being in the moment and following your instinct
  • building on what you have; transforming and preserving
  • healing male and female archetypes

At the Scorpio Full Moon, the Sun is in grounded Taurus, opposite the Moon in transformational Scorpio. Taurus is tangible and physical; Scorpio is metaphysical and intangible.

The Scorpio Full Moon illuminates our core self, shedding light on what we truly value, and on where we find and seek refuge:  the body, the home, our rhythms and our relationship to the natural world. Like an oak tree with strong, fixed roots, the winds of change can be wildly blowing but, it doesn’t panic; it remembers its depth. This lunation invites us to do the same: to ground out and let what’s ready to fall away in our lives, to do so naturally.

Mars in Aries: Channel the Fire

Mars is the planetary ruler of this lunation. With the Moon in Scorpio, The red planet Mars sits in his home sign of Aries—where his energy is strong and direct. This can be a powerful for aligning with what you want, and taking a bold step forwards towards it: brave, focused, and a tendency towards

impulsiveness. Mars in Aries boosts vitality and confidence, so it’s a supportive time to channel excess energy into movement, action, and clear decisions—physical and intellectual. At its most conscious, Mars brings passion, motivation, and courage. In its shadow expression, it can tip into reactivity: irritability, anger, or the urge to push through rather than listen.

How to work with this Full Moon

  • Choose one body-based grounding practice (a slow walk, stretching, a bath, gentle self-massage) and notice what your nervous system does when you move more slowly.
  • Take stock of what you already have—money, skills, time, support—and pick one thing to strengthen or protect, rather than chasing something new.
  • Name what’s ready to be released (a habit, attachment, fear, resentment) and take one small, concrete step that signals: this ends here.
  • Have an honest, kind conversation with yourself about your values: what are you no longer willing to trade your wellbeing for?

Aromatherapy oils for the Scorpio Moon

Lavender, patchouli, and frankincense are oils with a healing and harmonising effect for the Scorpio Moon.

As always, if you’re using essential oils on skin, dilute in a carrier oil and patch-test first.

Lavender, Patchouli and Frankincense are oils that have a healing and harmonizing effect on Scorpios.

Lavender. Lavender is a perfect aroma for the Scorpio Full Moon, being a herb dedicated to Hecate, the queen of the underworld who assists in transitory phases in life, and is the goddess of witches and sorcerers. Add 5 to 10 drops to an evening bath to melt away the stresses of the day and soothe the soul. For insomnia, blend a drop of lavender into a smidgen of base oil and massage onto the soles of the feet to encourage deep sleep. Lavender is one of the few essential oils that can be worn neat and is a great addition to your first-aid box. Keep it close to your cauldron when cooking—it is a magical healer for burns.

Frankincense. Frankincense provides healing and purification for the Scorpio Full Moon. It is an ancient, spiritual plant that can help us release fears and sever ties to the past that are blocking growth. Frankincense assists in rebirth and empowerment through facing buried issues. Add it to an oil diffuser or inhale directly from the bottle. It helps deepen the breath and clear mental clutter, making it a perfect accompaniment for yoga, prayer, or meditation.

Patchouli. Patchouli resonates with Scorpio’s personality. It is deep, sensual, and has a powerful effect on all those who catch its musky scent. It deters moths—and even psychic vampires. A grounding, earthy resin, patchouli brings you back from the heavenly heights and right into your body, making it a perfect oil for spaced-out personalities who need some terra firma. It makes an exotic, comforting room fragrance when diffused, or when added to a bath to revive the spirit.
